Progress of iTunes U Course Development

Currently, I am in the second week of producing “Creating Reflective Digital Learning Experiences: iPads in Education”, an iTunes U course being developed to increase use of iPad in the classroom.  As I am a learner as well, I look forward to learning with the other learners.  iTunes U is a service provided by Apple, I have never delved too deeply into.  This week I am definitely learning the intricacies of this app.  The new features of Hand-In and Grading, are something I have enjoyed exploring.  Just as the app store is constantly releasing new apps for creation, processing, and reflection, I need to constantly renew my learning of these apps and the creation, processing and reflection process.

The course is set up with supportive resources to gather ideas and support from.  Learners will be able to reflect upon learning through the creation of iPad generated products and presentations.  Through the production of the products, each student’s personal state or national learning standards will be the focus.  These goals will be determined by the products that learners produce with their iPads.  I have created a rubric to determine how the production relates to the learning standard, and this could be used by the educators for their own classroom.

This is a continuous learning process.  I am challenging myself by exploring this tool deeply.  At this point, I am pleasantly surprised with the progress.
