GarageBand PoetryCombine rhythm, melody, and spoken poetry in a fun and engaging way for students to develop their own voice and express themselves in verbal and non-verbal formats.  Using GarageBand learners will take a written poem and develop it into a full experience using rhythm, music, and spoken word. LaunchPad Austin

Region XIII Educational Service Center and Lamar University have teamed up to support student coding and creative expression in Austin area schools, while coaching librarians to be instructional leaders and empower them to continue the program in their own schools.  Observing, co-teaching and teaching lessons using the Everyone Can Code and Everyone Can Create Curriculum from Apple Education.  Attending this poster session, you can learn how this program was created, how the first several sessions progressed, and why it might be a good fit for schools instructional leaders and teachers. Cultural and Heritage Exploration with the iPad

Learners will explore different iPad apps and tools to celebrate and discover the similarities and differences of their countries of origins. This is great for classes with new migrants or a mix of different cultures. (TCEA 2023)

Explore six different tools for STEAM discovery, exploration, and learning. Participants will be able use these ideas to develop deeper lessons, labs, and experimental learning in their classroom. Allowing the Google tools to create a richer learning experience. (TCEA 2023)

 

10 Quick Start IPad Activities for the Google Workspace Classroom – 

Learn about ways to use the built-in features in the iPad incorporated within the Google Workspace ecosystem. These are great lesson starters, exit tickets, and do-nows to get your students on task and learning. (TCEA 2023)

 

iPads are Literacy and Math Wonderland for Littles – 

Help your Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten students activate their creativity while practicing writing, phonetics, patterns, shapes, and colors with these simple activities that can be done on the iPad. Using both Tayasui Sketches School and Keynote, students can draw, write, and explore their way into learning and exploring. (TCEA 2023)

 

No-Tech Coding for Littles with Swift Playgrounds –

Playgrounds on the iPad is a great game-based learning app to teach students the basics of coding. However, showing the coding concepts in a non-digital can activate other parts of the brain, creating deeper understanding and connections to the concept. Dance, draw, and move as we explore coding unplugged. (TCEA 2023)
